The Difference between U.P. and Maharastra:

A day before yesterday, while I was coming back from the Patrakar Puram market. I heard a strange voice, asking me to stop. I turned back to look into the matter. There was a man, at the very first look I got the idea that he was not of our state.

He asked me if we can talk for a while in Hindi. I said OK.

Then he started the narration. " Ham log idhar ka nhi hai aur ham par bahut musibat aa gaya hai. Ham log Maharashtra se hai aur ham train se Vaishnav Devi ja rahe the aur raste me hamara sara saman, ticket-fiket sab chori ho gaya". In between this he called the other members of his family and started to tell the story again. There were 7-8 persons in his family including 3 children. He said indicating towards his youngest son aged around 5 years " Ham logo ko kuch bhi nahi khana hai par mai aapke samne haath jod kar prarthna ( Request) krta hoon ki aap mere bete ke khane ke liye kuch Rupiya de de".

I told him, " Aap Maharshtra ke hain aur aap UP me aa kar madad maang rahe hain. Aap ko to Raj Thakre ko call kar madad mangni chahiye. Aapke Maharashtriye hone ki wajeh se aap ko yahan ke log taklif de sakte hain. Balki kahiye to main aas pas ke logo ko bula kar aapke parivar ke sath aapki pitayi kar du." He said, " Arre ham log aisa kuck bhi nahi karta hai, mai kabhi kisi UP wale ko nahi maara." I said," Yahan dushmani meri aur aapki nahi, U.P. aur Maharashtra ki hai, aapne kisi ko nahi mara par Marathiyo ne to mara. Kaihiye to badla le lu main?" Saying this I gave him some money. I also offered them a cup of tea but the refused.

After coming back to home I was thinking that would a family of UP have been as safe as that Maharashtriyan family was in U.P? In Lucknow not only I but others too are eager to help others. We actually respect others, we in U.P. never hate a caste or race or a state. This is very true.
