• Day 5 of CWG: India won 6 Golds, 5 Silvers and 3 Bronze Medals. In shooting Gagan Narang again won Gold for the third time and Imran Hasan Khan (50 Meter Rifle), Omkar Singh (10 meter Air Pistol) and Dola Banarji, Dipika Kumari & Bombayala Devi (Women team, Archery) also won Gold Medals. WomenWrestlers Alaka Tomar(59 kg) ans Anita (67 Kg) won Gold.
  While Manavjit Singh Sandhu and Maeshwar Singh (Shooting pairs), Vijay Kumar (25 meter rapid fire pistol), Babita Kumari (51 Kg,Wrestling), Ashish Kumar (Gymnast) won Silver Medals.
  Kavita Rawat (10,000 Meter's  race, First woman to win CWG medal for individual race), Gurpreet Singh (25 memter Rifle) & Rahul Banarji, Tarundeep Rai, Jayant Talukdar (Mens' Archery team) won the Bronze Medals.

• Dudhwa National Park changes its name to Ambedkar National Park. The park was established in the year 1977 with an area of 190 km Square. There was another national Park with the Dudhwa national Park named Kishanpur National Park with an area of 204 Km square. In the year 1987-88 both parks were declared as Tiger Reserve with a total of 884 Km Square.
