India's  first Women’s Wrestling Gold Medal won by Geeta Phogat (55Kg women free style Wrestling) from Bhiwani, Haryana and two other Gold medals were won in shooting by Omkar Singh and Gurpreet Singh. Silver medals were achieved by Ranjan Singh Sodhi( Double trap Shooting), Nirmala Devi (48 kg free style Women's Wrestling), C Jignesh, Chinna Raju and Ritul Chatterji ( men's team compound, Archery) and Bronze medals were won by Aashish Kumar ( Gymnastic, floor exercise, India's first Gymnastic medal), Suman Kandu (63 kg women's free style Wrestling), Sudhir Kumar (77 Kg Weightlifting), Bhagyabati Chanu, Jano Hansdah and Gagan Deep Kaur ( Women's team Compound, Archery). India is still second after Australia in winning medals.
